PROJECT & CLIENT OUTCOMES
An independent evaluator will be contracted to provide project evaluation services. These services will include the development of an overall evaluation plan, including design of data collection tools/instruments and process, other measurement methodology, data analysis and reporting. The project evaluator will also assist the peer leaders in the peer-led continuous quality improvement process for project evaluation and program redesign. Preliminary outcomes are likely to include at least the following variables:
Goal Area 1: Improved school attendance
Outcome Statement 1: At least 80% of project participants (peer leaders) will demonstrate improved attendance in the 12 months of their participation as compared to the 12 months immediately prior to their joining the program
Goal Area 2: Decreased contact with the Juvenile Justice System
Outcome Statement 2: At least 80% of project participants (peer leaders) will demonstrate no involvement with the juvenile justice system during the 12 months of their participation and for those participants on Probation, will demonstrate satisfactory progress toward completion of their obligations without recidivism
Goal Area 3: Overall improvement of functioning across several life domains
Outcome Statement 3: At least 80% of project participants (peer leaders) will demonstrate improvement in pre- and post-test scores on standardized assessment (Global Assessment of Functioning-FAS and ASAM) tools provided at intake/screening and upon completion of the program.
Goal Area 4: Increase capacity within the community for youth to resist and refrain from violence
Outcome Statement 4: At least 60% of project participants (peer audience) will report a commitment to avoid violence and other maladaptive behaviors as a result of the information learned in the peer-to-peer presentations
