JUDICIAL ADVOCACY

RECIDIVISM REDUCTION & JUVENILE COURT ADVOCACY

Once contacted by a parent or the Office of the Public Defender, Aquarius staff will act as a liaison and advocate on behalf of accused youth; providing judicial authority with a detailed assessment of personal history and community and familial background as well as recommendations on how best to rehabilitate and reduce the likelihood of a repeat offense.

If convicted and detained, upon release Aquarius staff will provide intensive case management, socialization and recreation programming, personal development and life skills building, and substance abuse psycho-education for ethnic youth released from the Santa Clara County Ranch programs (adjudicated youth) back to their residence and/or placement within the City of San Jose. Services will be provided from 9-12 months, on average, dependent upon individual need and progress in treatment.
